(Ocean Grove, NJ) – Businesswoman Samantha Scordato had only just celebrated the grand re-opening of OG Surf and Skate when Hurricane Sandy descended on the Jersey Shore. Luckily for Scordato, her store was unscathed by Hurricane Sandy, but she recognized others were not as fortunate and in that year after Sandy, she donated her time and money to help others in her community.
After nearly two years in business, Scordato is ready to help her community again because she is grateful for so many things. “’I’m thankful for the opportunity to be with the shop. It has graced me with meeting so many people and going so many places. I am thankful for my family, friends,” says Scordato who hopes to continue being an active participant in her community.
From November 1 to November 16, OG Surf and Skate customers who donate canned food or any other non-perishable food item will receive 10% off their purchase (excluding recycled surfboards). All food items collected will be donated to local area food banks and pantries in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.
About OG SURF AND SKATE
OG Surf and Skate Shop was established in 2006 when it was opened to inspire kids and adults alike while at the Jersey Shore. The idea was to have a small hard core shop supporting the true essence of the surfing and skating lifestyle.
The shop was originally located on Main Avenue in historic Ocean Grove and quickly became a place to gather for those who loved the surf and skate lifestyle. It was a place where they could find the clothing, accessories, and gear that represented that vibrant way of life.
In 2009, OG Surf & Skate moved to its current location in the West Grove Square Shopping Center on South Main Street in Neptune. The store is located just blocks from the ocean along Main Street.
In September 2012, Samantha Scordato became the new owner of OG Surf and Skate.
